It explores the Pacific island world, analyzes the academic institution and the ecumenical community at the Pacific Theological College, and discusses the kinds of thinking that can be nurtured in the classroom. The project is a disciplined reflection on, and evaluation of, the author's experience in teaching courses in Pacific studies, Christian education, and worship. The workshop, given on three occasions, enabled seminarians to examine their issues of personal growth within the broader perspectives of theology and psychology. A panel of lay persons plus a dialogue between biblical scholars made critical biblical scholarship available to the average believer using a video cassette recorder. Research involved perusing Vatican II documents and subsequent directives. Academic study of media production and related disciplines helped complete a new curriculum with a pilot video program which has been successfully field-tested. The author conducted a survey of Lutheran congregations in central Florida to test the theory that worship helps in the Sunday bulletin increases the comprehension of participants in the service.
