It is supported by a theology of ministry (biblical witness and historical overview) and an exploration of the nature of such programs.  A model of training supervision is suggested.  The collective feedback data of the trainers, a clergy peer observer, and the author based on his observation of video tapes of the sessions were used to evaluate the program's validity in increasing church members' self-confidence, pastoral identity, and competence as providers of pastoral care. Social legitimation of identity, culture shock, loneliness, and Maslow's hierarchy of need are examined.  Images of the church and the message of I Peter are analyzed to draw implications for ministry within the Japanese situation. The resultant suggestions for ministry are evaluated by pastors. Three implications drawn from a literature survey are: journey not destination is central to female learning styles; male supervisors need to understand life questions of female students; and supervision is understood theoretically as co-interpretation.  A traditional unit of basic CPE is proposed involving male supervision of a group composed entirely of female students. The Bruggemann grid of orientation was used to frame the teaching of theological integration. This study is particularly aimed at helping Christian college students to become more mature decision makers. A review of literature and the development of a theological rationale was undertaken to determine the effects of divorce on children and how some support groups have been utilized.  The model developed by Rainbows for All God's Children, Inc. was implemented and evaluated. Vulnerability, loss, and grief are universal phenomena providing a key to analysis of the issue.  Correlation is done between the individual experience of grief with collective data regarding the Old Testament experience, the Black American experience, and research into episodes of mass trauma.  Insights from these studies are applied in an analysis of a particular ministry to the homeless.
