The 'experience' chapter outlines a seven-week group fasting experience led by the student.  The group was pre- and post-tested. Three disciplines, Christian education, church growth, and organizational development are used to inform reflection on the project.  The conclusion of the reflection is that if the Sunday School is to be a vital Christian organization, it must more closely approximate the Anglican Volunteer Religious Societies from which it began. The project provides analysis of a college context and observations on faith development in approximately 150 students.  Exploration of four themes integrates faith development literature, Old Testament theology, exegesis of selected, illustrative biblical texts, and campus data from structured settings and class assignments. Included are the theological foundation, role of the church, description of the needs of adult children of alcoholics and the implications for ministry. Many varied resources for gifts clarification are identified and analyzed.  Ministries are defined as services which are rendered by all members of the church, lay and clergy, within and outside the church's gathered life. The essential elements of a ministry of gifts discovery are identified. Both groups were pre-tested with the Templer Death Anxiety Scale and the Lester Attitude Toward Death Scale and post-tested with the Templer Death Anxiety Scale and the Collett-Lester Fear of Death Scale.  The null-hypothesis was confirmed: the educational module was not statistically significant in altering death and dying fear/anxiety in the treatment group.
