The study examines the educational history of New Mexico and the involvement of Presbyterians in parochial and mission schools.  Eight groups of persons related to the institution were surveyed. The results, included in the study, are analyzed concerning expectations.  The study suggests possible directions in a report made to school trustees. Using the factorial survey approach as developed by Peter H Rossi, vignettes were constructed for response by persons in government.  These were analyzed, along with biographical data collected from the respondents. Results of research indicate people in state government practice religion themselves and are responsive to issues, both public policy-justice issues and self-interest issues of the religious community.  They place a high value on knowledgeability of advocates. The vehicle for the evaluation was a case method study used in peer group settings.  Assessment of change was primarily via use of the Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire as per a pre-test evaluation of levels regarding self-esteem. Subject categories used were: 1) intelligence; 2) ego-strength; 3) self-acceptance; and 4) social image concern.  For a public the size of the test groups, a mean change of 75 percent was deemed necessary to be significant. This change was achieved in regard to three of the four evaluation factors, and was slightly under forty-five percent on the fourth. The subjects of the study were nine sisters who participated in intensive interviews, 45 sisters who responded to an anonymous questionnaire distributed to a random sample of one hundred, and one sister who was in therapy for nearly one year.  The findings provide information about the barriers Catholic women religious face in their ministry toward women who have had an abortion.  Attention is given to some of the areas of conflict that may widen the gap between the service which Catholic women religious feel mandated to provide and the actual care received by women who have had an abortion. Material is drawn from pastoral involvement with two hundred-fifty parishioners all of whom are in the ninth and tenth decade of their pilgrimages.  The research method was active listening and observing, then recording parishioiners' subjective spiritual concerns.  Data was accumulated over ten years. Men and women of various ages, occupations, and educational levels were interviewed. They said they wanted to hear the Bible preached and taught as the infallible word of God.  They claimed to now have a heart relationship with the Lord they didn't have before. They found a caring attitude, a warm and loving support community of faith they had not experienced.  They objected to the social-activist position of mainline churches. Such prayer, defined as 'meditative prayer', places an emphasis on waiting for God.  Meditative prayer underlines the need for quiet preparation as part of praying.  A six-week Lenten series of sermons, workshops and model meditative prayers provide a broad approach to an entire congregation.  The project report contains scriptural and theological support.
