Then the author describes and reflects upon a first year's experience with the catechumenate in his congregation. A survey of listener needs was given to identify sermon topics.  From the survey three sermons were selected and developed by the pastor and a small group called the Parish Project Group (PPG).  Following each sermon a congregational feedback meeting was conducted to determine how the sermons were received by those attending. The research method was to conduct open-ended interviews with leaders in churches, mission agencies, and foundations in order to build a philosophy of giving large financial grants. The research discloses that giving is best done through partnerships that are relational in nature. Three levels of strategic importance are delineated. The student believes that many properly motivated Christians will become eager bearers of the gospel to persons who are not yet born again.  Although most active White Oak members would profess to believe that personal evangelistic efforts are important, few of them are sufficiently motivated or convicted to actually engage in such endeavors themselves.  The student will work with four assistant leaders recruited from the congregation to develop a curriculum for use in a seminar setting.  The assistant leaders and the student will then conduct a nine week seminar designed to motivate ten non-witnessing members to become active in personal evangelism. For several months, alsmost every Saturday, the performing arts evangelistic team witnessed Christ to audiences on a street corner at a shopping strip. The program utilized Korean family values by reconstructing the ideology of filial piety.  It was implemented by the researcher,a Korean-American pastor, in a European-American congregation.  Volunteers learned about the needs of the frail elderly, namely, mental depression, physical disability, isolation and loneliness. In order to do this, the project director researched sermons and created a sermon model. The project directory created eight part model sermons to his congregation during Sunday worship. A group of experts assessed the model sermons and their assessments were used to determine the sermons’ effect and reach. From the research and assessments the project director was able to find the key factors of sermon skills and made a plan to improve sermon skills. He also looked at the before and after of the congregation’s spiritual awareness to find changes and made that the focus of his results.
