The purpose of this study was to develop a strategic plan that will encourage these institutions to pursue an accreditation model. This study identified five impediments to this pursuit. 1. Insufficient academic preparation of professors2. Excessive government restrictions3. Poor economic situation in country4. Lack of interest/Lack of knowledge of benefits5. Low academic level of studentsThis quantitative data was obtained through a Delphi survey of twenty-two individuals from three distinct subgroups: (1) Independent Baptist missionaries actively involved in pastoral training in Spanish-speaking Latin America, (2) Independent Baptist Hispanic pastors or professors who were trained in Latin America and who retain involvement in this ministry, and (3) Independent Baptist theological educators who have experience with the accreditation process. Through the Delphi survey the participants suggested the above-mentioned impediments to the pursuit of an accreditation model. The Delphi expert panel also provided qualitative data by sharing additional insight into the nature of the impediments through comments made within the survey and personal conversations with the author.Once the five impediments had been identified a Delphi support team worked with the author to develop a strategic plan to address each impediment. Specific goals were set, and action steps were identified. Most importantly, the strategic plan encourages independent Baptist pastoral training institutions in Spanish-speaking Latin America to promptly initiate and to passionately pursue the core concepts of the accreditation model, specifically, the standardization of curriculum, external peer review and internal quality assessment. The project concludes with recommendations to independent Baptist churches, ministries, and pastoral training institutions in both the United States and Spanish-speaking Latin America."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c654e922-76d0-4427-ac29-e286b7997781"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719292125577216,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:47:45.640Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:26:48Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:13:03Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"befc88ee-698c-4751-b3b0-51396625de67","accessControl_ssim":["1838f75a-cf2a-4bf8-988d-42cab6f9509a"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A Case for Lament: Strategies to Augment Cross-Cultural Discipleship Efforts at Bridge Community Church and Cornerstone Church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:26:47Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:37:58Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["eddf5af4-1828-4afa-8ea8-c16a78515257"],"hasLease_ssim":["1a982c8e-10ad-4166-bdcd-ce7791f7bf26"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Missio Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Susan S. The project included a biblical and theological study, followed by interviews with a select sample of men from the congregation. Qualitative analysis revealed some confusion over the phrase “spiritual warfare.” Additional themes that emerged from the interviews included a high degree of awareness of temptations of the flesh as an ongoing source of spiritual struggles and a strong belief that Satan is real. This latter belief was tempered by widespread uncertainty over the relevance of Satan, or any demonic influence, due to a very high conviction about the sovereignty of God. A recognition of the importance of enlisting other men for help in fighting spiritual battles was also a significant theme. While the men interviewed identified the value of having “battle buddy” type relationships, they readily acknowledged the absence of such relationships. Quantitative research via a confidential, online survey confirmed a low level of self-disclosure among the men of the congregation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c654e922-76d0-4427-ac29-e286b7997781"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720303190867968,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:03:49.867Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:26:05Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:45:59Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f7f706fc-4576-4247-9739-5c2546b2b18a","accessControl_ssim":["1b9568de-3c1b-40d5-96d3-94b7c92086e0"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Preaching and Pastoral Care: Helping a Hurting Church Heal and Move Ministry Forward"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:26:04Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:12:54Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["1d310b32-ad33-48f1-9f14-82187a2bfb54"],"hasLease_ssim":["56d73961-aabd-4981-beca-c4f83f3ab3c6"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"discipline_tesim":["Preaching"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Gennifer Benjamin Brooks Ph.D."],"year_tesim":["2019"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. In the black church context, such issues and the resulting hurt experienced by congregations have become almost normative, and the means by which it has been addressed is limited at best. People who have suffered from betrayal, hurt, and loss are often told to “let go and let God.” The perpetuation of this has often taken place from the pulpit, which should be a place from which the good news of Christ’s unending grace is preached. It is the effort of this writer to show through contextual practice how the integration of preaching and pastoral care can help churches overcome hurt in order to move ministry forward."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"related_url_tesim":["https://www.proquest.com/pqdtglobal/docview/2238782523"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["fc8e637d-6b92-421f-936e-4844dc981265"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135121493983233,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:46:02.582Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:26:05Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:38:10Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"6fb8ccfe-6cd0-4128-8582-c1d7c8dbd568","accessControl_ssim":["ac6b716f-c9a6-4c4e-8c64-10688934b859"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["An Experience in Small Group Spiritual Direction at McGuire United Methodist Church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T18:26:05Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:24:20Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["8f313e16-fbde-403a-b871-dedc694c4a1c"],"hasLease_ssim":["5c642c83-d96a-458f-ac23-25e33e54a468"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"discipline_tesim":["Spiritual Direction"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Frederick W. Fountain City Wesleyan is a church of 1000 with nine full-time pastors and ministry directors. The project highlighted the powerful impact of combining goal setting, coaching, and evaluation to develop team members. In addition, the project concluded that high performance expectations can be countered by high care for team members. This project conducted two case studies of similar churches to Fountain City Wesleyan Church. The project explored the biblical and theological basis for staff development including the identification of twelve biblical principles. The literature review analyzed three components of the annual development plan: crafting an action plan utilizing SMART (Specific, Measurable, Agreed upon, Relevant and Timed) goals and strategies; regular coaching sessions; and an annual review process to provide additional performance conversation and formal documentation of employee performance. This plan included a guide to create an action plan each trimester, the implementation schedule for the plan, a model for coaching staff (Connect, Opportunity, Alternatives, Course, Highlights), an annual self-review and performance review. Additionally, supplemental avenues to promote self-care among staff were identified. The final plan, tips and tools for coaching, tools for diagnosing development needs, and the research protocol are noted in the appendices."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c654e922-76d0-4427-ac29-e286b7997781"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719677179461632,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:53:52.857Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":13089,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
