The goal of this project was to develop a contextualized discipleship strategy for Chinese international students that prepares them for re-entry into their native country. Qualitative research was used to gain a better understanding of Chinese international students coming to the University of Wisconsin. It also served to assess the effectiveness of the discipleship strategy. The long-term success of this discipleship strategy is unverified. The author used qualitative, social research methods and semistructured interviews were conducted. The data was collected from five churches in Taiwan that have over one thousand people attending worship services each week. Each of the five churches has a distinct church culture. He addressed the lack of awareness concerning his own congregation's own divergent views about same-sex attraction and marriage through the use of internal surveys and interviews. The author also used surveys and interviews to engage a local community college to learn about views on homosexuality from people outside the congregation. When the membership process is unclear, the local church suffers as fewer people engage in service. This leads to ministry fatigue among those serving in multiple roles. A system of assimilation was implemented to encourage non-members to join Driscoll Boulevard Baptist Church. Research indicated that a strategic process of assimilation would enhance the value of local church membership. The design of the project included the administration of Pre- and Post-test assessments. The results of the course revealed that the participants had little understanding of the physical and spiritual divide. The design of the project included a quantitative and qualitative survey that assessed the level to which integration was executed. Upon completion of analyzing the data, success with integration of the protocols was revealed, with goal six being most prominent -- the participants understanding the purpose of training in formational prayer.
