Through an ethnographic study of church members, colleagues, and youth, I study how confirmation classes were taught. I trace changes from a modern to a post modern church and show why ways of teaching confirmation using limited methods no longer work in our post modern church. I examine Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences, apply his theory both to classroom teaching and to theological methods and metaphors, and begin to develop- a confirmation program using multiple intelligence theory and multiple theologies. This pluralism raises questions and problems for a society that believes in holistic healing.  The Presbyterian Church of Ghana is called to consider the integration of the various forms of healing known and practised in Ghana. The project had four components.  First, the author used the marketing tools of surveys and focus groups to listen to the boomers.  Second, she created a three-tiered educational structure.  Track 1 included lectures on the Bible and ethics. Track 2 employed book studies to develop a spiritual language.  Track 3 focused on prayer techniques.  Third, the courses were designed using professional teaching models.  Lastly, the author evaluated the structure via surveys and interviews. A literature review of revitalized churches suggested seven common elements programmed into churches that have moved from decline to vitality.  Those elements were implemented into the life of Crossroads over a two year period.  Evaluation took place in terms of participation levels, new members, and small group attendance and a survey questionnaire. Through a written survey and in-depth interviews, mangers' personal and professional experiences, attitudes, and theological beliefs were explored.  The project concludes that for numerous historical and cultural reasons, managers separate their faith from their work.  Local churches tend to reinforce that separation. Unacknowledged grief and lack of support can result. The NCD approach evaluated eight quality characteristics, advocating the use of the church's identified strength to build up its least- developed characteristic.  The research involved three administrations of the NCD survey.  The church's health index rose from thirty-eight to fifty-one on a scale of one to one hundred. Interviews revealed benefits in the process. The goal of this project is to enable the church community to embrace biblical core values in the discovery of functional values which determine the vision for ministry in the local church. The project will involve the identification of core values on two levels of church leadership. First, the church staff will engage in the process of identifying core values in personal ministry as well as for the Christian community. Second, participants from the church body will be involved in identifying core values. The articulation of core values will lead to the development of a clearly defined vision for ministry. The project leader will lead the staff and congregation through the discovery process. The process will be accomplished through an off-campus retreat, seminar sessions, and a series of sermons on the biblical core values of Christian community. Today, over three decades later, she continues to follow the British-Western cultural patterns in theology and worship. African theological beliefs and cultural practices are still foreign to her church. As a result, members practice their traditional beliefs outside of the church and Western cultural norms in the church. This is a problem the church has not been able to address. This paper will attempt to highlight some of the African practices, examine their theological relevance, and evaluate them.
