The project looks carefully at the mainline and subculture socio-demographics of Pasco County, mapping the possible Third-Place encounter points and assigning them to districts. By hermeneutically creating cultural narratives of each district, churches can train personnel cross-culturally to enter these Third-Place setting with gospel fluency contextualized to a culture or subculture. The strategy model described in the current edition of The Project in Ministry Design Handbook of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary was utilized for this project report. Additional purposes of this project were to develop and accomplish project goals and professional goals to strengthen the project director’s strategy development and professional leadership. The project director researched local demographics and cultural dynamics of the Lakeview community to determine ministry tartes for multiethnic church growth. Existing models of churches that include all culture and ethnicities were then explored to determine best practices. The final objective was to equip selected leaders of Fellowship of Montgomery in essential assimilation skills. The project director enlisted several experts in various areas to evaluate goals. He employed assessment instruments, including pretest, posttest, rubrics, reports, and an annotated bibliography, to evaluate the product and outcomes. The project director based the process on Hugh Townsend’s Set the Journey: a Strategy Development Model for Associations. The director enlisted a team composed of Baptist leaders – Both bivocational and fully-funded – from across the state. The primary goals of the process were to: (1) create a “Bivocational Pastors Profile,” (2) determine “best practices” within other state Baptist Conventions, (3) develop a finalized strategy, and (4) present the strategy to appropriate leadership for both approval and affirmation in order to proceed with implementation, albeit outside the scope of the actual project. The project relied on survey data and a professional strengths inventory together with focus groups composed of pastors and spouses at six regional Dialogue Dinners. The project is based on the ministry skill enhancement model. The project director researched the fields of expository preaching and biblical genre, focusing on six of the major genres of Scripture: narrative, poetry, wisdom literature, parable, epistles, and Revelation. Annotated bibliographies and reports on expository preaching and biblical genre were reviewed by Dr. Lewis Richerson and Dr. Steven Smith, experts in the fields of expository preaching and biblical genre. From the reports, rubrics were created to evaluate the sermon development process. The project director developed sermon structures, outlines, and manuscripts utilizing the knowledge gained from the research to structure the sermon according to the structure and genre of the text. The project director delivered six sermons to the congregation of Galilee First Baptist Church. Dr. Richerson and Dr. Smith evaluated the sermon structures, outlines, and sermon videos.
