The idea of a 'self-theologizing' church is biblically grounded, yet it is still an unfamiliar practice for evangelicals.  This project involved restructuring an undergraduate mission theology course to familiarize students with the need for theological contextualization, to give the experience in facilitating a 'hermeneutical community,' and to guide them in devising a personal theology of mission. The report began with a survey of psychological, sociological, and theological insights into male depression.  The support group consisted of eight weekly sessions with homework assignments drawn from CR material, Hart's book, and daily devotionals. The key conclusion of the project was that depressed Christian men can be aided significantly through an integrated, Bible-based support group. The literature search examined biblical, theological, and historical foundations.  The field research was conducted using a basic questionnaire with twenty questions to conduct open-ended, guided interviews.  The sample consisted of key Pentecostal leaders from the Assemblies of God and key non-Pentecostal evangelical leaders serving in strategic positions with ministry experience of over twenty-five years.  The literature search revealed that theologians and practitioners of church history who overemphasized either the Word or the Spirit fell into error, portrayed a lack of balance, and caused division in the church.  The field research revealed that despite the differences in theologies and labels, the work of the Spirit was pretty similar. By distinguishing too sharply between the Word and the Spirit, the church has lost an important biblical perspective and fractured the Body of Christ. Sonrise was planted in 2003 and is located in the western section of Mobile County. This area of Mobile is growing rapidly with a variety of homes ranging from starter homes from young families to high end custom-built homes for the more affluent. With all of this growth in the community, Sonrise is experiencing steady growth. In spite of the present growth, the project director sees a need to establish a systematic plan to maintain healthy church growth through prayer, evangelism, and discipleship. The project director will evaluate community data, do research in historical and contemporary church growth, and do research in the current organizational structure of Sonrise. The project director began this equipping process by researching the different models use din assimilation. He used this knowledge to develop a workshop which included lessons outlining a specific assimilation process to be used by the New Members Committee to assimilate new adult members. This New Members Committee was divided into four teams: Contact, Concerns, Connect, and Commitment. Six workshop lessons, taught by the project director, equipped committee members to define assimilation, explain how assimilation occurs, identify obstacles to assimilation, and comprehend how spiritual growth is essential to the assimilation process. The project director had three goals. First, the project director researched applicable material on personal evangelism. Particular attention was given to principles, problems, and the presentation of the personal evangelism encounter. Second, the project director developed curriculum to teach a series of lessons on personal evangelism. Six lessons were developed and administered over a three-week period. The lessons equipped deacons to engage in personal evangelism. Third the project director's presentation and content of lessons were evaluated at the conclusion of the project. The author researched the competency of the church in ten core areas related to discipleship in the home.  A ten-week course was executed that taught parents their scriptural responsibility to disciple their children, equipped them with appropriate skills, and helped them develop confidence to accomplish the task. As the result of this research, on adult study course on prayer for Korean American church lay people is design, implemented and evaluated. The D/P is arranged in three Parts. In part one, Wesley's historical and theological background together with his spirituality was dealt with his practice of prayer and finally his activities in the U.S.A. In part two, I examined Korean spirituality which was influenced very much by Shamanism and Mysticism. I illustrated two pastors' stories which impressed me very much. In part three, a questionnaire was designed to know what the Korean scholars and pastors thought about Wesleyan prayer and their prayer practice.
