It was found among Baptists from the seventeenth through the mid-nineteenth centuries, and is experiencing renewed interest among Southern Baptists today.  The project model shows how a typical Southern Baptist church may transition to plural elder leadership. It evaluates biblical and historical foundations, and then explores current Southern Baptist leadership practices. The outcome will be to have Christians observing everything that Jesus had commanded, which is the second part of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).  The project started with an examination of disciple-making disciplines and strategy-planning techniques in general.  The list resulting from this research became the basis for developing a strategy for making disciples for First Baptist Church, Wauchula.  Upon completion, the strategy was approved by church staff and the strategy-development team. This spirituality is grounded in a consistent ethic of life that respects the inherent dignity of all persons. Statements against women's ordination have been made out of fearful reaction to decisions of the Episcopal Church. Using the Whitehead method, the author studies the experience of Episcopalians and the tradition of the Catholic Church, bringing these elements into conversation with aspects of democratic and clerical cultures. Familt Systems Theory is an avenue whereby the power of Jesus can be experienced. Conflict itself is only a part of the picture; equally important is the management of conflict. This project collects information from the field through district presidents within the Lutheran Church -- Missouri Synod (LCMS) along with consultants who assist congregations and church organizations that find themselves in conflict. Combining God's Word with an outside source for help provides a church with a resource to help reconcile relationships and resolve conflicts that may not be resolvable using internal procedures. The pilot demonstrated that a format of a preaching retreat day, formation period, and preaching retreat day was able to perpetuate participation but not facilitation. Questionnaires were sent to all 43 congregations, and all were returned.  Data was also collected from the 1997 PCA Yearbook.  The churches were then ranked, and five each were selected from the top, middle, and bottom third, and their pastors interviewed concerning the missions giving of their congregations.
