Abstract
  • The author's premise is that intentional attention to dreams, dream series and patterns provides both client and therapist with valuable information from the client's psyche not otherwise available. Through in-depth discussion of a case study and other dream examples from her own clinical work, the author illustrates how dream analysis provided invaluable guidance for determining diagnosis, unlocking repressed trauma and core issues, developing ego strengths, identifying transferences, defenses and resistances, identification of timing when issues could best be uncovered and worked through, confirmed growth and change and facilitated deeper self-understanding for the dreamer.
