Abstract
  • This project was designed to recruit, prepare, and assign volunteers for an interfaith agency seeking to meet physical and spiritual needs of some people in Wichita Falls, Texas. Interfaith Ministries is a unique cooperative effort of 30 Christian congregations and one Jewish congregation. The report describes four study sessions which presented 1) a biblical basis for helping the poor and needy, 2) a psychological understanding of those in poverty, 3) a sociological understanding of the local situation, and 4) a practical understanding of the history of the agency and of volunteer opportunities.
