Abstrakt

This study examines recent theory pertaining to interim ministry as a specialized area of parish ministry. It includes: 1) a survey of present practices in the coordination of interim ministry in the United Church of Christ, with evaluative observations; 2) a design and critique of training events for persons involved in interim ministry; 3) guidelines for interim ministry in the Connecticut Conference of the United Church of Christ. Special attention is given to various issues in interim ministry plus the personal reflection of the writer from his career as an interim ministry specialist. The study constitutes a training resource for judicatories.
