  • The study of church history in Seminari Theoloji Malaysia encounters two major problems: its relevancy in the formation of Christian life; and the difficulty of placing church history in the proper context in the practice of ministry. This project analyzes and explores the use of Thomas Groome's shared Christian praxis as an approach to teach an introductory church history course. Church history as faith story can formulate Christian self-understanding (Malaysian Christian self-understanding). An introductory church history course syllabus based on shared praxis was designed and taught. The evaluation affirmed that the method is an effective pedagogical approach.
