Abstract
  • Preaching faces competition from other forms of liturgical expressions and therefore preachers should try to preach relevant and purposeful sermons. The project examines preaching styles among lay ministers of the Bibleway Church of God in Christ Jesus Apostolic in Jamaica. Questionnaires administered to lay ministers and members revealed that many pastors spend little time to prepare their sermons and exhibited a lack of exposure to homiletics. The research provides a basis for the development and implementation of an introductory course in homiletics for lay ministers of the Bibleway Church of God in Christ Jesus Apostolic in Jamaica.
