Abstract
  • The project is an evaluation of the understandings of world mission and commitment to it by the East Ohio Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Findings have been analyzed according to various levels of administration which affect a United Methodist's understanding of the church's mission--the General Board of Global Ministries, the Annual Conference, the district, and the local church. Attitudes were compared to mission giving by the East Ohio Conference United Methodists from 1976-1982. Strong leadership by the district superintendent and pastor in motivating and educating members was found to be a key factor.
