- Abstract
- The project used a pro-active research method to gather United Methodist clergy in the Nashville District of the Tennessee Conference of the United Methodist Church into a covenant group which practiced selected spiritual disciplines to strengthen their relationship with God, with each other, and with the poor and marginalized of their community. Fasting, abstention, communion and conferencing enabled them to practice the faith together in mutual support and accountability.
