Abstract
  • The purpose of the project is to explore the potential for faith development of persons who are mentally handicapped. Twenty adults who are mentally handicapped, as well as the congregation, participated in the project activities. The research instruments included interviews and questionnaires. Four formation sessions were conducted as an attempt to discover and address the faith needs of each person, followed by four worship services addressing those needs. The discovery was made that persons who are mentally handicapped are spiritual beings with faith needs and have the potential for faith development.
