Abstract
  • This Project is designed to examine the impact a special needs child has on the ministry effectiveness, family life, and personal life of those involved in vocational ministry. A theology of suffering and ministry developed. Interviews of ministry parents of special needs children and denominational officials showed that that while those who were involved in vocational ministry in the United States generally felt they received all of the support they needed, missionary families with special needs children had to return to the United States to best meet the needs of their children.
