Abstract
  • This project theorizes that vision for ministry is largely lacking in small, rural North Dakota and Minnesota churches but would make a difference when present. Utilizing guidelines of clear, shared vision for ministry developed for this project, judicatory officials recommended target churches for participation. Leadership from each congregation completed three research instruments. Results were used to establish a positive correlation between vision for ministry and the presence of higher morale, a future orientation and a higher level of concern for those outside the local church. A set of recommendations were developed for small, rural congregations lacking vision for ministry.
