Abstract
  • The object of this research project was to implement and evaluate the Leadership Training Seminar at First Baptist Church of Spearman, Texas. The fifteen-week seminar taught the concepts of leadership foundations, community and performance to over twenty selected church leaders. A control group of church leaders did not attend the seminar. An evaluation instrument, validated by a panel of ministry leaders was utilized among both the control group and the study group in a pre-test / post-test design. Results indicated that the leaders who participated in the study improved their scores on the post-test evaluations by a statistically significant margin, not only in the overall leadership evaluation, but also within each of the three leadership attribute categories studied. No improvement in scores was found among the control group. The conclusion is that the seminar had a significant and positive impact.
