Abstract

This project addressed the need to develop an evangelistic Bible study curriculum in response to the rising Chinese student population at the University of Texas at Arlington. A Scale of Readiness was also developed to help identify the levels of readiness of the student prospects. The project was used as a pilot project at the Arlington Chinese Baptist Church, co-sponsored by the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Eleven chapters, an introductory session, and two assimilation sessions comprise the project material. The chapters were written to address frequently asked questions among Chinese students. Chapter titles include: How to know that God exists; The spiritual capacity of human beings: the dark side of humanity: the problem of sin and suffering; The God who cares; The dilemma of the human situation: the choice of work and grace; Who Jesus is; The way to salvation: one or many; From sage to saint: it is a blessing to be a Chinese Christian; A simple choice with huge consequences: making an existential decision; A life transformed and the beginning of a holy life; and Nurturing in the community of faith.
