Abstract
  • This study seeks to propose that the roles as an educator, a preacher, a coordinator, an encourager, and a prayer warrior are the expectation of a pastor in leading corporate worship in the local church. The biblical foundation of these five pastoral roles is examined in the lights of the examples of Jesus and Paul the Apostle. The functions of these pastoral roles are discussed. A survey of over 1000 Sunday worshippers in eight churches of Miri Gospel Chapel in Malaysia was taken and the responses to these questionnaires were analyzed to confirm the expectations of these five pastoral roles.
