Abstract
  • As part of the larger Project Cathedral, asking 'What makes a Christian leader effective?', this project presents case studies of two successful senior pastors in the midwestern US. Through analysis of survey questionnaires, church documents, and on-site observations, the project finds that these pastors are effective because they consider character most important for leadership; they lead through their strengths and hire staff to compensate for their limitations; they have a clear vision of where their churches should go and they lead with their strengths to pursue that vision.
