Abstract
  • Improving church committees as agents of ministry and models of Christian community is the purpose of this project, a leadership training lab at Faith United Methodist Church in Freeport, Illinois. Supporting research includes a study of scriptural foundations for koinonia, the unique fellowship of Christians in partnership with Christ; reports on five examples of Christian community and elements of koinonia in group life; and examination of leadership styles which enhance koinonia. The project concludes that leadership training does enhance koinonia in the church committee and offers suggestions to others who train for koinonia.
