  • In this study, student practices related to the confession of sin are analyzed through the lens of Scripture and traditional Evangelical soteriology. Analysis shows students approach confession in ways that preserve autonomy and guarantee outcomes. Students demonstrate a shallow awareness of a biblical/theological rational for confession of sin. The study challenges Christian educators and leaders to consider the long-term effects of an emphasis on individual religious experience and punctiliar conversion.
