- The author learned that members of the church he pastored were seeking help from traditional Mexican-American healers. In order to understand what was taking place he proposed the following research topic: Why do Mexican-American Lutherans in Corpus Christi seek the help of curanderos/curanderas? The study includes three interviews with healers and five church member case studies.
