  • The purpose of this paper is to explore women's spirituality and role in various religious communities and settings, through a variety of readings, interviews and personal experiences. Research on the various denominations shows the different ways humans, particularly women, express their relationship with God and each other and how that is worked out in their lives individually and in community. The denominations studied are: Roman Catholics, Mennonites, Hutterites, Shakers and Quakers. Spirituality is the connectedness that humans experience with God, but it also calls them to interact with each other and to act in the world.
