Abstract
  • This is a pilot program designed to identify the types of issues and skills useful to chaplains and other health care professionals working with military members suffering from symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). As a result, a spiritual health presentation was developed and taught to a group of seven military members of the Canadian Armed Forces as part of a psycho-educational PTSD group program. Administration of questionnaires and verbal responses was the the basis of the evaluation of effectiveness. This research indicates that reflection on spiritual issues may help alleviate the distress of PTSD sufferers.
