Abstract
  • Spiritual 'kinetic chains,' those habits of heart and mind which enable a believer to share in the character of Christ, are at the heart of contemporary Christian spiritual formation, and are available to every believer, not just the spiritual 'elite.' A United Methodist pastor forms two fifteen-week 'Christian kinetics' groups to study the spiritual disciplines, the spiritual gifts, and readings from the Christian classics, supplemented with a study of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Corrine Ware's Spiritual Wheel. The groups provide a unique opportunity for the experience of koine community, and for 'spiritual space exploration.'
