Abstract
  • This thesis project explored the correlation between cultural exegesis and attitudes towards the surrounding community. The project assumed the mission of the church to be the Great Commission. The research included a pre-test and a post-test following teaching on critical contextualization. The results indicated growth of the participants in their understanding of the surrounding community, a key component of a unique vision for a local church body committed to making an impact on the surrounding culture. The project established the correlation between understanding the culture and participants' attitudes toward the community surrounding the church.
