Abstract
  • This thesis is about the transmission and transmutation of God's self-communication in a postmodern electronic culture. Its methodology challenges Catholics conditioned into a passive faith stance by the lingering age of typography to listen, learn, and tell the sacred stories in a public forum. By reclaiming the power of the oral traditions, the process of biblical storytelling forms small faith communities actively proclaiming and passing on the tradition while enhancing the liturgy of the Word. It provides an immediate ecclesial solution to the shortage of priests by restructuring local sacramental communities into evangelists themselves. People of the 'Book' become a people of the Word.
