  • Christians in Korea love the Bible, like to read it and zealously memorize its passages. Being enthusiastic about Bible studies, they have made rapid growth within only a century. However, they are generally obsessed with a 'banking' fragmentary knowledge of the Bible. An urgent need arises to make a shift from oppressive education of the Bible to a liberating process of common learning. To meet such a need, a 'Koinonia approach' to Bible study has been tested and proved possible and valid in enabling the readers to read the Bible existentially and as a community activity seeking to find new possibilities for personal, and historical transformation.
