Abstract
  • This project proposes to tear down the barriers separating an African American congregation from its Hispanic neighbors by fostering a greater appreciation of Hispanic culture. Conversational Spanish classes, formal and informal gatherings, and personal interviews provide opportunities for the church and the Hispanic community to work together and to encourage Hispanics to become involved in the life of the church. The project finds a greater sensitivity and spirit of cooperation prevailing between both parties because of this activity.
