Abstract
  • How does the church effectively introduce new persons into membership and assimilate them into avenues of ministry that are commensurate with their giftabilities? This project was designed to answer that question and to be an instrument used by other churches in Appalachia to enhance the meaning of church membership. The project utilized a thirteen-week discussion manual and video. The course dealt with those topics of interest determined by members who were surveyed within the author's context of ministry. The testing of this model in four different size churches indicates it is applicable in other United Methodist churches.
