Abstract
  • The goal of this project is to find ways in which congregations can help parents raise their children in the Christian faith. The context is a Lutheran congregation in Brazil. The project uses a method called participatory research to discover whether and to what extent the congregation and parents understand the educational role of parents. The author concludes that the effectiveness of the home as an instrument of Christian education is enhanced when the home itself is part of the context of a faith community and the life of the community finds its expression in the home.
