Abstract
  • The purpose of this project was to research the historic uses of confessions and catechisms in the history of the church and of the Southern Baptist Convention. The project provided the added benefit of increasing the project director's knowledge of confessions and catechisms and more importantly his knowledge of Baptist doctrines, as well as increasing the project director's skills in the area of research and writing. The project's clear goal was to develop a catechism for the twenty-first century Baptist Church, resulting in the populace of the congregation being instructed in the truths of the historic confessions of faith, Baptist doctrine, and biblical truth.
