- Abstract
- The main purpose of this practicum is to utilize leadership/organizational skills in a small covenant group to develop African American males spiritually and relationally. Twelve participants were selected from the South English Street Church of Christ (Greensboro, North Carolina). It met for eight weeks reading and discussing material dealing with racism, Black rage, Christian spirituality, leadership, the Black church, and White Christianity. The group experienced increased understanding of the spiritual and social ills afflicting Black men. The participants felt closer to one another and spiritually stronger. They dedicated themselves to reaching and saving troubled African American males.
