Abstract
  • This ministry project was designed to revitalize and refocus the ministry efforts of the First Baptist Church of Belzoni. An extended period of church conflict marked by multiple church splits resulted in a negative inward focus and the subsequent loss of morale and mission. The director facilitated this process by leading the church through a visioning process which culminated in the writing of a church mission statement. Although the mission statement was the tangible result of the process, the ultimate objective of the project, however, was to foster health and vitality in a systematically sick and stagnant congregation through the process of rediscovering mission.
