Abstract
  • This project trains and enables elder sponsors to become partners in learning and spiritual friends to youth seekers in the confirmation process, allowing a congregation to become involved in confirmation as a learning community. The extended family of learning surrounds these youth to teach and retain them beyond confirmation as mature Christians in a 'household of faith.' This learning community fulfills the promise a congregation makes at baptism to be responsible for the faith development of the child baptized.
