Abstract
  • This project deals with the question: Why has Korean church growth stopped since the middle 1980s? In order to answer this question, the writer surveyed the two different understandings of Christian mission. The ecumenical group understands mission as social responsibility, while the evangelical group are earning souls. The writer combines these two opposite trends on the basis of the Bible, and from this third position tries to answer the question. According to him, the Korean church will recover from the present serious situation only when it takes both of the opposite understandings of Christian mission into account.
