Abstract
  • The project focuses on securing member involvement in making church mission support decisions. The process was a four-unit study taught to four churches and a group of ministers. The mission support study sessions focused on biblical basis, historic Baptist patterns of mission support with emphasis on the formation and development of the Cooperative Program, current Southern Baptist patterns of mission support, and member input into developing the best current mission support method for Southern Baptists. Conclusions included: member involvement does enhance mission support; members appreciate new understandings; and, facts and attitudes can be affected by such a study.
