- Abstract
- This project uses family-systems theory to assess leadership styles of eight Southern Baptist missionaries. Generation to Generation by Edwin Friedman is an important family systems resource for the study. Instruments produced by XICOM facilitated leadership assessment. On their genograms the participants indicated family themes, emotions, traumas, triangles, and leadership characteristics over three generations. The four instruments aided the participants to identify leadership resources in their genograms and family systems. Participants discovered that their family systems influenced their ability to lead.
