- New church starts have a high magnetism toward conflict, which contributes to short-term pastorates. With a shallow understanding of Christian peace, shame suppresses conflict. This project considers how Paul reclaimed his honor and opened the door to a healthy resolution to conflict in Corinth. A one-day event was offered to clergy stressing that with divine providence honor and shame can mobilize persons in conflict to healthy resolution rather than destructive separation. This project helps clergy change from a shame-based response to an honor-based confrontation of conflict resulting in a greater possibility for a long-term relationship with the church.
