Abstract
  • The project evolved from the question: 'can resource providers in Wichita County, Kansas network to efficiently and effectively provide care for women at risk?' The hypothesis was that through personal interviews with and a group meeting of professionals a common concern could be expressed and channeled into action to educate the wider community, prevent further abuse and violence, and support victims. The model used was a combination of Continuous Assessment and Action-Research. The hypothesis is correct in that resource providers are currently engaging in the development of this new network. Emerging is a Coordinated Community Response Team with plans for a community meeting and an advocacy training event with local and regional resource providers.
