Abstract
  • The purpose of the project was to determine if small groups in extra-ecclesial settings could be used as a means of church growth within a small suburban church. The author conducted training sessions which involved lay members of the congregation. They in turn led meetings in private homes to ascertain what needs people thought the church could help fill. Growth in membership, increased sensitivity to needs and new programs by the administrative board attested to the success of the practicum.
