- Abstract
- The author uses his experience in Hispanic, Afro-American parish life in urban United States and in Central America to show how liberation theology and the 'preferential option for the poor' may be made operational in the North American context. He used workshops in four suburban parishes in Connecticut as the basis for the project. The results of the research show that the process towards inclusion of systems and structures in our scriptural reflections is an arduous one. It demands emotional, as well as intellectual, retooling.
