Abstract
  • The purpose of this project was to equip selected leaders of Killian First Baptist Church, Killian, Louisiana, with essential discipleship skills. To accomplish the stated project, the project director identified three main goals. Each goal is further divided into phases to reach the stated goal. THe first phase for goal one consisted of research to identify essential discipleship skills and the best practices for connecting and communicating with pre-teens and early teens. The second phase of the first goal was to conduct a survey of the selected leaders to determine self-perceived strengths and weaknesses of the selected leaders in regarding their discipleship skills. The second goal was to develop curriculum for use in equipping selected leaders with essential discipleship skills. The first phase of this second goal was the completion of LeRoy Ford's Design for Teaching and Training. The second phase was to create a curriculum for equipping of essential discipleship skills. The final goal was equipping leaders with discipleship skills. This goal is divided into the following phases: enlisting participants, creating a class roster, conducting the training, and conducting a post-test exit interviews.
