Abstrait

The purpose of this project is to inform and to train evangelical Christians in how to witness to people of Eastern orthodox background. Though there are Orthodox people in a number of regions of the world, the focus of this project will be on people with Orthodox background who are currently living in Eastern Europe or who have immigrated from countries in Eastern Europe. The project work will begin with extensive research of the beliefs of people of Eastern orthodox background. The research will primarily be conducted through a study of the literature available on Eastern Orthodoxy, but will also involve interviews with current and former Orthodox adherents. Two means will be used to inform and train evangelical Christians in how to witness to people of Eastern Orthodox background. First, the writer will develop, lead, and evaluate a seminar on witnessing to Orthodox people. Seminar participants will be issued a manual that will reinforce the material taught. Second, the writer will revise the manual based on evaluation and feedback from seminar participants. The revised manual will then be field-tested and evaluated by ten missionaries.
